A delegation of 4 members from the Yunnan Academy of Forestry (YAF), China, has visited the ForeStClim project today. They were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Michael Köhl and Dr. Jobst-Michael Schröder from the World Forestry Institute, University of Hamburg, Germany.

After hearing introductory presentations about the FAWF facilities (partner 1) and the ForeStClim project outline, the guests visited the associated Merzalben experimental site in the Palatinate Forest.

Mr. Hans-Werner Schröck and Prof. Dr. Gebhard Schüler explained the long-term environmental monitoring as well as the particular studies to be conducted in the course of ForeStClim.

For several hours, various aspects of forest management were lively discussed. The Chinese delegated pointed out that the equipment used on the ForeStClim site would also enhance similar studies in the Yunnan region.
